    "Same Loud No"
    Damon Soule

Opening: at Fecal Face Dot Gallery
    66 Gough St. @ Market
    San Francisco, CA
    May 7th, 6-9pm

This New Orleans native, Damon Soule, fabricates a psychedelic cluster-fuck of loud colors and abstract images juxtaposed with recognizable symbols or objects to create a raucous cacophony that is sure to please the eye and ignite endless inspiration. He promises color, surrealism, and boxes galore for reasons even he cannot even name. In an interview with Trippe from Fecal Face, Soule says regarding the upcoming show, "Yeah... ummm. There seem to be a lot of squares. There is a piece about prime numbers and one about the golden ratio as it relates to nocturnal birds of prey. to be honest I'm not quite sure why. I was having these crazy dreams. it's kind of hard to explain but I was having multiple dreams at the same time but they were contained in these boxes and I was moving from dream to dream or box to box. It was very strange."

There ya have it kids, but let his work speak for it self. See ya there, or be square!

    House Party

    Oakland, CA
    May 9th

Weekender is a local Oakland band that cites their influences as "Oregon, Ohio, and California."  They recently recorded two of their songs, Simple and White Lighter, that set the pace for a fast, hard, and to the fucking point sound that keeps you on your toes, and likely thrashing into each other .  Weekender features hardcore breakdowns and melancholy lyrics seething with energy, fitting for a band that describes themselves as "People who drink beer and ride bikes playing music."  It will for sure be a throw down.

Raise the Bridges has more personality in it's littlest finger than most of you can hope to evoke in your entire lifetime.  Hailing from Oregon,  they have concocted one of the most unique amalgamations of genres I have listened to in a while in their barely two short years playing together since 2008.  They merge hip-hop, punk, hardcore, indie, reggae and ska to create a sound that has been described as "a party teetering dangerously on the edge of being out of control", or in short, it's effing Rock n'Roll. However, Raise the Bridges is not just about sex and drugs, this band spits purposeful lyrics that are meant to not only uplift and raise raucous, but are also intended to inspire and enlighten.  Its like Aesop Rock, Granola Funk Express and Against Me! met Sublime on the subway that got stuck going through a tube and they were so wired with creative energy that they created an album then and there about all the fucked up shit going on, good and bad.  Or its like a white kid with dreadlocks buying crack from a dealer in East Oakland, then cooking it up back in his mom's basement with all his hippie friends, chasing it with LSD, and subsequently reading the Bible.  Schitzophrenic, enlightened, amusing, and definitely fucking sick.
